Ashin Kusala, 30 years old hails originally from Bagan. He has been a monk since 2006 and prior to that worked as a furniture maker upon graduation from the a Bachelor of Management. Asked why he chose this puritan path, he said he was very intrigued by the Pali language which is very useful for learning Buddhism. His future plan is to go into the forest for long term meditation.
